On the show this week we discuss Marshan Camese speaking about redistricting before the Louisiana Senate Committee hearing to eliminate the one Democratic Congressional district, the rush of the southern states to eliminate Democratic Congressional districts after the Supreme Court gutted section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, and Trump’s visit to China. Next we discuss a Utah Judge ruling that cameras can remain in the court room during the Charlie Kirk murder case, Disney’s ABC challenging the FCC over free speech, and that immigrants are giving up their cases and leaving the U.S. in soaring numbers. Then we discuss Trump lifting restrictions on hunting in national parks and other areas, the White House Correspondents dinner suspect seeking the recusal of top DOJ officials in his case, and a Judge ruling that DOGE cuts to humanities grants were unconstitutional. Next we discuss Trump seeking to pause the federal gas tax as prices soar due to his Iran conflict, a lawsuit challenging Trump’s reflecting pool project, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy taking a 7 month road trip to film a reality TV show. Then we discuss Trump saying his ceasefire is on life-support after rejecting Iran’s proposal, Iran’s top negotiator saying that the U.S. will accept our proposal or American taxpayers will pay for it, and Trump saying he wants to visit Fort Knox to see if gold is there. Next we discuss Trump saying he’s considering making Venezuela the 51st state, Trump nominating Kari Lake as Ambassador to Jamaica and Doug Mastriano as Ambassador to Slovakia, and a new poll finding that the majority of Americans are unsure if the attempts on Trump’s life were real. Then we discuss that a third federal appeals court rejected ICE’s mandatory detention push, a conservative PAC being caught paying people $100 to attend a J.D. Vance rally in Iowa, and Dr. Marty Makary being out as FDA commissioner. Next we discuss Kevin Warsh being confirmed by the Senate to be the next Federal Reserve chair, the Justice Department subpoena to the Wall Street Journal investigating media leaks, and the South Carolina Republicans who defied Trump’s demand for redistricting. Then we discuss the California mayor pleading guilty to acting as an illegal agent for China, the FBI interviewing CIA officers in their investigation of John Brennan, and Trump officials suing the Catholic diocese in a bit to seize land for the border wall. Next we discuss the inflation report showing the highest level in nearly 3 years due to energy spikes from the Iran war, Rep. Raskin revealing that the FBI paid millions to FBI agents that were suspended for misconduct, and Kash Patel being grilled when he testified before Congress. Next we discuss Trump telling a reporter that he doesn’t think about Americans financial situation and calling an MS NOW reporter dumb for pointing out his ballooning ballroom costs, Trump falling asleep again in the Oval Office and White House officials saying that he just blinked for 18 seconds, and Rep. Jen Kiggins facing backlash for agreeing with the host of a radio program when he used the term ‘cotton picking’ in reference to Hakeem Jeffries. Then we discuss a group of Miami residents suing to stop Trump’s Presidential Library from occupying a waterfront plot, DOJ suing the D.C. Bar in a fight over discipline for Trump administration attorneys, Trump accusing journalists of treason after reporting that Iran retains major missile stockpiles, and J.D. Vance threatening to cut off Medicaid funding to states that don’t comply with his White House anti-fraud efforts. Next we discuss a poll finding that 70% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy, FBI insiders revealing that Kash Patel is padding the stats to boost his record of arrests, the emails showing that Patel’s Hawaii trip included a VIP snorkel at a Pearl Harbor memorial, and the U.S. expecting double-digit billions in Chinese farm purchases after the Trump-Xi summit. Then we discuss the Senate voting to withhold their pay during future shutdowns, the Supreme Court extending access to mifepristone while it hears the case, DOJ reportedly dropping fraud charges against a billionaire from India, and the White House considering plans to issue 250 pardons for the nations 250th anniversary. Lastly we discuss the poll finding that the vast majority of Americans think the 1.5 trillion dollar DOD budget is too much, the Texas Supreme Court rejecting Gov. Abbott’s attempt to remove Democratic lawmakers who fled the state to break quorum over redistricting, the Colorado governor granting clemency to Tina Peters, the Senate introducing a bill to abolish the military draft agency, and the Supreme Court rejecting Virginia Democrats attempt to restore the new congressional maps.
