On the show this week we discuss DOJ charging Cole Tomas Allen with attempted assassination of Trump, how everything around the Trump administration is fake, and the DOJ press conference where they said they can’t find the bullet. Next we discuss the Virginia Supreme Court mulling the legality of the redistricting referendum, the U.S. Supreme Court weighting whether police can demand Google location data, and Trump firing the independent board that oversees the National Science Foundation. Then we discuss a Judge questioning whether Trump can sue his own administration for $10 billion dollars, Kid Rock and Pete Hegseth taking a joy ride on an Army helicopter, and the Pentagon firing the Stars and Stripes ombudsman. Next we discuss Trump backing an idea to change ICE’s name to ‘NICE’, GOP Senators losing confidence in Pete Hegseth amid the Pentagon turmoil, and James Comey being indicted over the seashell photo he posted on social media. Then we discuss King Charles’ address to Congress and visit to the White House, the State Department putting an image of Trump on new passports to mark America’s 250th, and Trump telling aides to prepare for an extended blockade of Iran. Next we discuss the mixed reaction Trump’s swimming pool blue reflecting pool project is getting in D.C., the Pentagon asking Congress to codify the name change to ‘Department of War’, and the U.S. spy agencies examining how Iran would react to Trump declaring victory. Then we discuss an Appeals Court ruling against ICE’s mandatory detention policy, the Justice Department accusing a former Fauci advisor of concealing communications related to COVID research, and the Atlantic article saying that J.D. Vance is questioning whether the Pentagon is giving Trump the full picture on Iran. Next we discuss the Florida legislature passing new congressional maps to favor Republicans on the same day the Supreme Court struck down the Voting Rights Act, the administration claim that the Secret Service officer was hit by gunfire from the suspect at the White House Correspondents Dinner, and lawmakers questioning Hegseth’s Pentagon firings and leadership on the Iran war. Then we discuss the Appeals Court denying Trump’s request to rehear his appeal of the $83 million dollar defamation verdict to E. Jean Carroll, the House passing the reauthorization of the FISA spy program, and Trump pulling some U.S. troops from European NATO countries. Next we discuss Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s announcement keeping interest rates the same and saying that he will leave his post in May when his term is up but will remain on the Fed board, a poll finding that young Americans’ faith in the federal government sinking to a record low, and the U.S. Supreme Court considering Trump’s bid to end Temporary Protected Status for Haitians and Syrians. Then we discuss Trump hosting the Artemis II astronauts at the White House, Pam Bondi agreeing to testify to the House Oversight Committee after Democrats filed a contempt resolution, and Maryland becoming the first state to ban surveillance pricing in grocery stores. Next we discuss Janet Mills suspending her U.S. Senate candidacy, Trump pulling Dr. Casey Means nomination as Surgeon General and nominating Dr. Nicole Saphier, and the House voting to finally end the DHS shutdown. Then we discuss the Governor of Louisiana postponing primaries in a rush to redraw their Congressional districts after the Supreme Court struck down the Voting Rights Act, Rep. Jeffries laying out more targets for gerrymandering in a response to the GOP in red states, and Senators saying that Hegseth dangerously exaggerated the U.S. military triumph in Iran. Next we discuss Amazon wanting to relaunch “The Apprentice” staring Donald Trump, Jr., the House passing the sprawling farm bill despite GOP infighting, and the cratering of the CBS Evening News’ ratings. Lastly we discuss Trump saying he doesn’t need Congressional authorization for the Iran war, the 5th Circuit Appeals Court blocking nationwide access to abortion pills prescribed through telehealth, and Trump threatening to withhold AIDS medications to African countries unless they turn over their mineral rights.
