Episode 255 – June 30, 2013

Show Art for Episode 255 of the Tim Corrimal Show

On episode 255 of The Tim Corrimal Show, I am joined at the round table by Joe (@Marnus3 on Twitter), Francie (@Francie57 on Twitter) and Rocky Mountain Mike (@RockyMntnMike on Twitter) who creates hilarious political parody songs which you can check out on his Facebook Page, Sound Cloud Page and his new website at http://rockymountainmike.com/.

On the show this week we start out with introductions and the “All A Tweetie” segment, then we begin the political discussion with one clip from the GOP Talking Point Sunday Morning Shows where Glenn Greenwald and David Gregory spar about criminalizing journalism over classified leaks.  Then we discuss the Supreme Court rulings this week on affirmative action and the Voting Rights Act and then we discuss Keith Ellison’s introduction of a “right to vote” constitutional amendment and Wendy Davis’ filibuster of the GOP backed abortion restriction bill in the Texas State Senate.  Then after another fantastic commercial from our great friends over at BubbleGenius.com, we discuss the Supreme Court ruling on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California’s Proposition 8. We start with the comments after the rulings by DOMA plaintiff Wendy Davis; a phone call from President Obama to Proposition 8 plaintiffs Kris Perry and Sandy Stier; and Proposition 8 plaintiffs Jeff Katami and Paul Zarillo’s comments and marriage proposal in front of the Supreme Court.  Then we discuss Rachel Maddow’s segment discussing the impact of the Supreme Court ruling on DOMA in which they ordered the immediate halt of the deportation of any person in a legal gay marriage to an American citizen.  And then we close out the show with the incredibly moving marriages of the Proposition 8 plaintiffs on Friday, June 28th when the 9th Circuit Appeals Court lifted the stay on gay marriages in California.
