Episode 185 – George in London

The Tim Corrimal Show
Episode 185 – October 23, 2011

On episode 185 of The Tim Corrimal Show, I am joined by my co-host Dave (@D_v_E on Twitter) from “The Corner Tavern” blog. Also joining us this week are Sarah (@s_cosgrove on Twitter) from the “Mashrabiyya Blog” and Tim Queeney (@TimQueeney on Twitter) from the “Height of Eye” satire website and the author of the book “George in London“.

On today’s show, we start out with introductions and we play a voice mail from Peter (@epilonious on Twitter) from “They Don’t Know” podcast. Then we discuss switching from a national bank to a credit union and Tim Queeney tells us about his book “George in London” which is currently available as an e-book at Amazon.com.  Then after the “All A Tweetie” segment, we move on to the GOP 2012 Clown Car Update featuring Jim Hightower on Sarah Palin’s announcement that she’s not running for President in 2012 and a discussion about the latest GOP Debate in Las Vegas. After a word from our good friends at BubbleGenius.com, we discuss the death of Muammar Gaddafi and what that means for the future of Libya including Dave’s take on the Dave’s Legal Corner segment. And finally we close out the show with the Foxisms of the Week segment all about smearing the Occupy protests.

Join in the Fun. Call the listener line at 202-657-4277, leave a message and we’ll play it on the show. Also be sure to follow me, @timcorrimal on Twitter.

  1. Tim Q, thanks for choosing me as your Twitter friend. That was very generous of you to mention me, and your kind words were lovely.

Loved learning more about George in London, and you know I’m a fan of your Height of Eye site, so I’m certain you will have continued success with your book. Good to hear your voice – finally!

Tim C, thank you for a spirited show!

  2. Great show, as always! I especially liked Dave’s Legal Corner because this was a topic I was wondering about, and even thought about asking Dave to cover it. So, I’m really glad he did!

  3. Coreplane says:

I liked Sara’s summation of the state of Libya. I think she pretty well nailed it as far as the state infrastructure (or lack thereof) goes.

Sorry to be picky, but it took me a minute or two to decode came-us to Camus. For someone born in Quebec that was like fingernails on a blackboard.

I also found Dave’s take on the Awlaki assassination interesting. If I may sum up his point as “Where’s the battlefield?” I’d like to add that there’s also a dearth of public evidence that he was, in fact, metaphorically, “holding a gun.” Public evidence suggests he was al Qaeda’s marketer. (It makes perfect sense to me that they’d hire an American to run their marketing campaign.) As for the active participation in planning violent operations, perhaps he was, but the presented evidence consists entirely of “trust us.” While it may be legitimate targeting a general in the “war”, having such people selected by presidential designation makes me uncomfortable. Smacks of “at the pleasure of his majesty.”

As always, I enjoyed the show.
