Before and After Pics

December 21st, 2008 by Tim Corrimal

As I’ve talked about on the show, we’ve been having some work done to the front of our home here in DC.  Here are the before and after pics for your enjoyment.  The house was originally a 5000 square foot home that was built in the 1860′s and was owned by Alain Locke, who was the first African American Rhodes Scholar.  In 1980, the building was gutted and converted into 4 condominium units.

I’m so glad all of this work is finally finished before the Inaugural Weekend in January, 2009. A fitting tribute to the first African American President, Barack Obama.

This picture was taken 12 years ago when we moved into the building.

This picture was taken during the repointing of the bricks in October, 2008.

The painting begins on a warm day in December 2008 by painting the accent brick work.  The doors on the building were replaced in 2007.

A close up of the detail work in the bricks.

Here you can see how the detail work of the antique brick is now visible since we painted it a darker tan that the rest of the building.  One of my favorite detail brick works on the front of the building is the Greek Key bricks that now stands out.

The work is completed and the painters did a fantastic job!!!  Now to decorate for the Holidays!!!

Episode 88 – The Podcaster Holiday Meet and Greet

December 8th, 2008 by Tim Corrimal
Play

This weekend we had the Gay Podcaster Ho-Down Meet and Greet and it was really a hoot!  Miss Wes flew back from her Hawaiian cruise, Walt treked down from the New Yorks, Miss Starr Jones made an apperance.  And we were so happy that Larry Klye could get off his ass and actually show up.  But of course, Big Fatty couldn’t make it because he was busy with one of his Horrah events.  Go figure.  Wish you could have joined us!!!

Happy Holidays!!!!
