Episode 26 – Memorial Day in NYC Show

There Are Some Who Call Me Tim
Episode 26 – May 28, 2007

What a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend in NYC.  Ron and I had a blast.  This show is a mash up of recordings from the weekend.  It was Fleet Week in NYC with lots of pretty Navy and Marine boys wandering the streets of the city in uniform.  And we had a lot of fun hanging with Chef Mark and Mikeypod.

Podcasts mentioned on the show:
Remarkable Palate
Remarkably Mark
Food Philosophy
Mikeypod
Archer Radio
Ramble Redhead

Restaurants in NYC mentioned on the show:
Chez Josephine
Pasta Presto
Trattoria Ciro

Pictures:
Mark, Tim and Michael

And here are the pics of the kitchen in our hotel room.  The hotel said they would shop for us so we could cook for ourselves in our room if we wanted to.  And they provided the pots, pans and cooking utensils.  But no stove.  What was up with that?

And on top of it, the bottled water in the room was $7.  Like I’m going to cook for for us while we are on vacation.  As Davey from Pop Trash Radio would say, “unh uh”.

  1. awwww it was so great to actually have a chance to talk to you guys! Hope you come back soon!

  2. Thanks for the birthday wishes!!

I don’t eat liver and probably not much else of what you guys had. Sounds like you had a great time in New York.

I had no idea what that song at the end was. I’m sure someone else does though. Do I lose my gay card?

  3. Great show – sounds like you had a lot of fun

    It was Vicki Carr!

  4. Good times, good times. Glad you all had a blast :) Sofia’s sounds so yummy.

  5. Great show, Tim. Sounded like a really fun time.

All motels and many hotels in New Zealand have at least a rudimentary kitchen in them (like a microwave, and maybe a two-burner stove). All have free coffee and tea, too, even the swanky hotels. Apparently Americans keep trying to make their coffee in the electric kettles because they’ve never seen them before (though you may have them now for all I know).

I recognised that song, but I did have to Google it to find out who it was. I haven’t heard it in many, many years!

  6. Yes, I meant Chez Josephine’s sounds yummy. lol.

  7. Nice Site!
